Dwarf-Dwarf Interactions
Dwarf galaxies are believed to be the basic building blocks of all massive galaxies, but recent observations demonstrate that many dwarf galaxies themselves may be actively undergoing mergers with other dwarf galaxies. We use numerical simulations to better constrain these interactions, based on the shells and tidal tails of gas and stars that are torn from the interacting dwarfs.
Examples of dwarf-dwarf interactions from a catalogue of interacting dwarfs compiled by my collaborator Dr. Sanjaya Paudel (Paudel et al. 2019).
